Ok so you’ve heard all about the new technology of digital photo frames and how they display digital images on a screen, but how exactly does that make them different to the standard photo frame, and what makes them so great?
Firstly, and probably most importantly the digital photo frame (depending on how bit it’s memory is) can hold and display a great number of images. Once these have been uploaded they’re cycled through in a slideshow style presentation; all on one screen. This presentation can be customized by the user so that the length that each photograph is displayed for, how long the interval between each photo is and in what direction the photographs are displayed can all be changed.
Secondly, most digital photo frames come with both a stand so they can be displayed on a shelf, table or mantel piece and wall mounting holes so they can be displayed on the wall too. This makes them just as versatile as the standard photo frame, if not more so because some models can also play mp3 music files to further enhance the atmosphere of a room.
So for example, when you get back from your summer holiday and are visited by friends and relatives you can transfer your digital photos from your camera to your photo frame and put them on a slow cycle with relaxing background music. This allows you to point out where you went during conversation and the photo frame becomes almost interactive.
Alternatively, if your kitchen or dining room needs brightening up a bit you can put some uplifting images on the photo frame, attach it to the wall and let it do its thing. A lot of us are comforted by the presence of a television, radio or computer being on and a digital photo frame provides that same level of comfort, but much more purposefully.
