The dealer, and the casino, assumes that you know enough about poker to realize that showing your cards is a bad idea. They take this as a sign that you have thrown in the towel for the round. And then they act accordingly. While there are few things worse than the feeling of a bad beat, an unintentional folding definitely rates up there. Imagine how you would feel if you actually had a decent hand, and then accidently flashed another poker player. It would be considered a fold, even if your hand could have been the winner. That is the kind of bad beat that has the potential to really put a player on tilt. The worst part of it is that it is totally avoidable. Don’t let this happen to you.
