The inclusion of this level allows the league to fine tune the skill levels and the matches incline to be closer. Playoff qualifiers participate in the Competitive playoffs.

3.5 Has achieved improved tennis stroke reliability with directing control on average tennis shots, but still lacks depth and diversity. Starting to show more competitive net play, has improved court coverage and is developing teamwork in doubles.

4.0 Has dependable tennis strokes, including leading control and depth on both forehand and backhand sides on moderate strokes, plus the ability to use lobs, overheads, approach tennis shots and volleys with some success. From Time to Time pulls errors when serving.
Admin Comments: Advanced1 skill level, About 20% of the tennis players are in this skill level. Rusty tennis players should start off in the Competitive skill level first. Scores are closely monitored by the league for Purity of Competition Rules.

4.5 Starting to master the use of power and spins and beginning to handle pace, has sound footwork, can control depth of tennis shots and is beginning to vary game plan according to opponents. Can hit first serves with power and accuracy and place the second serve. Tends to over hit on difficult strokes.
Admin Comments: Elite division, About 5% of the tennis players are in this skill level. Most players need to earn their way into this skill level or have proof of 4.5 rating.
